Have you got a sure-fire fix for jet-lag?
I just came home from flying over 10 time zones and my mind and body are zonkers. Have you got a method for reducing jet-lag?
Know how you feel!!! I jumped 12 time zones in December twice in two weeks, then did did another 12 zones last month!
First of all in truth it takes an average of 1 day per time zone for the body to make the full adjustment. However there are a few things you can do to ease the pain.
Force yourself to get up at the correct time. After you throw the $%^& alarm clock, take a nice cool shower to jump start the body, and hit the java.
Stay busy, but don’t depend on your brain to make any important decisions.
Go outside as much as possible, or open the drapes sunlight helps the body’s clock make the jump.
If you are too tired to survive in the late afternoon, lay down, but for no more than 20 to 30 minutes. Any more, will only delay things returning to normal.
Eat a good dinner, and try not to go to bed until 9pm. By now your body should be so tired, that you will fall to sleep.
If you are going to return (make the jump again) do some prep work. Just before leaving start changing your sleeping and eating by an hour a day.
When you get on the plane, change your watch and try to eat & sleep according to your new time zone.
