Wooden Roses Maintenance
It is said that a home can become a heaven if taken care with love, commitment and little hard work. Else it can become a hell if neglected by its residents. However, big or small a house maybe, wherever be the location, it does require regular maintenance. And so do all the things which make it look beautiful. Whether you have a real garden in the verandah of your house or some potted plants or a plant of wooden roses, all of them needs regular caretaking.
Since wooden roses are usually made of birch wood shavings, after certain period of usage, one may find minute splits in the petals of the flowers. These are minor and are due to the ageing of the wood. They should simply be ignored. Since a wooden rose arrangement is made of various materials like wood, plastic, fiber which are glued together, you might have little unwrapping or loose joints. It’s good to keep an adhesive or floral tape handy.
One can do these minor repairs themselves without needing any special expertise or tools. If you have 3-4 such items in your office or home, you may also want to keep a glue gun which can be used to shoot hot glue with high precision. Such tools can also be used if you are ordering wooden roses in bulk. Shipping can cause some damage and the damaged ones can be repaired using such tools.
Any wooden carving, including wooden roses, is bound to gather dust. This is true especially if it is kept near a window. The various curves and the wooden surface also make it an ideal abode for the spiders to spin their webs. If you have placed you wooden roses vase above some furniture, closer to the ceiling, you are bound to see some cobwebs after few months. Use any usual soft duster to dust away this. You can also use you vacuum cleaner to clean this. However, care should be taken so as to not let your vacuum suck or blow away some loose flower petal.
Prevention is better than cures for human beings and it is true for wooden roses too. Regular care, maintenance and an odd stitch in time can save nine stitches in the future.
