How One Person Helped Me Lose Fat
Losing weight is tough, we live in a society where we are surrounded by unhealthy food and temptation. Temptations that you simply can’t hide from. Right in your own home of course. You want to keep your family happy so there is a box of chocolate chip cookies in the pantry and a carton of Rocky Road in the freezer.
That’s why support is 100% necessary and why a lot of women never hit their fat burning goals and if you don’t you’ll fall victim to the mistake that most women make. It’s too hard, they feel all alone and they toss in the towel and munch on the pizza their husband ordered for dinner. Sure having a friend outside of the house to talk to and hold you accountable with your fat burning workouts and diet is a plus and extremely helpful but having help at home is so beneficial.
I don’t just mean one member in the house, I mean everyone: spouse, kids, roommate, boyfriend… whoever you share a roof with. I mean this in all seriousness… sit down with everyone and explain to them why you want help, what you want to accomplish and how much it would mean to you if they would go a long helping you create a better lifestyle.
Remember that just because your kids like cookies and snack cakes does not mean you have to keep them in your house… when you want to get them a treat, buy them a one time serving size. Research shows that the habits you teach a kid now about healthy eating will help them as an adult to live a better lifestyle…. I for one wish that my parents had kept all the junk food out instead of making it seem okay to munch on Little Debbies and fruit snacks every day (I loved Shark Bites). That goes for your husband or significant other as well.
If your husband complains of too much “healthy” food, then let him keep junk in his car or office, but the rules are that you’re not buying it. You two can be healthier as a couple and set an even better example for the kids… if he complains of wheat pasta in front of the kids that is not much for aiming help.
Of course there is room for compromise but have them support you with positivity and make sure they keep you accountable. Let your husband know you’re workout schedule, that way he can ask if you followed it… and if you don’t he can give that great “husband stare down”… you know the one I mean!
It’s okay to realize you need help, so get help from those who know you best.
