A JVC deck that doesn’t seem to put out any sound or if it does, it crakles and it’s just for a couple sec.?
It was connected to a 5.25 that I think was grounding out or something, because the main cone was way stiff. Anyway, I plugged my Pioneer into it and played it for a while and its heat sink on the back of the deck got pretty hot, so I disconnected that 5.25.
Does this sound right? Is it poss. to “blow” the amp on the deck? Is it worth it to fix? and are the pre-outs still good on this deck?
if you ground any of the speaker wires on a high output deck you will
toast the outputs.the pre-outs will still work.
if the speaker cones do not move freely,toss them in the trash.
