How can I get the dye from my saddle to keep from coming off on my breeches?
I have a Circuit Elite XC saddle and I love it except that the dye on the seat gets on my breeches. I take very good care of my saddle, but I don’t know how to keep the dye from coming off.
I’ve had the saddle since March. I do oil it about once or twice a month. I think I will try the beeswax thing as well. It’s not the saddle I’m going to have forever. I have my eye on a Pessoa Gen X, but it will be a couple of months.
You need a beeswax leather cream or dressing to set and seal the dye. You will find beeswax dressings at tack stores and leather shops. Jay-el beeswax and Sno-Seal beeswax waterproof leather dressings can be found at a lot of saddle and tack stores.
