Brother Intellifax 2920 – Print Fast So You Don’t Have To Put Everything On Hold
The Brother Intellifax 2920 is more than a fax machine. It is also a copier and a laser printer. The Brother Intellifax 2920 toner cartridge uses Brother’s legendary ink formulation to produce monochrome text and graphics of amazing crispness and depth. The Brother Intellifax 2920 Printer – Brother Intellifax 2920 Toner system is perfect for enterprises from small offices to the medium size businesses. It can be introduced into all standard IT network configurations. The duty cycle is 10,000 images, one of the highest in its range.
As a fax machine, the Brother Intellifax 2920 features Super G3 compatibility, 33.6 kbps transmission, MH, MR, MMR and JBIG data compression, and a 600-page memory capacity. PC faxing can be networked in, but for sending only. The Brother Intellifax 2920 can operate in any of 4 modes; Fax Only, Fax/Tel, External Telephone Answering Device (TAD) and Manual Receive.
Fax/Tel. Fax/Tel mode sets the unit as the default answering unit for all calls. The Brother Intellifax 2920 toner identifies each call as voice or fax, then accepts faxes or forwards voice to a whatever extension has been assigned. The Fax/Tel mode intended for deployment on phone lines that primarily receive fax calls. Not using it on a primary voice call line id discouraged because answering machines cannot be part of the mix.
In Fax/Tel mode the 2920 answers every call and identifies each call as fax or voice. It receives fax calls and forwards voice calls to a pre-assigned extension. This mode is best implemented on a line that receives primarily fax messages. No answering machine can be used in this set-up: not even off an external wall jack and not the office voice mail system.
In External Telephone Answering Device (TAD) mode the system operates in conjunction with an external answering machine only. There is no forwarding of voice calls to another extension. All voice calls dump to an external dedicated answering machine. If the call is a fax, the 2920 receives the fax.
Finally, Manual Receive has two modes. It can be combined with a distinctive ring feature or it can be straight manual. In straight manual, every call must be answered live – no answering machine pick up is allowed. If a fax is on the line, you must stay on the line until the 2920 picks up. This mode is best on a line that receives few faxes, for obvious reasons. The Distinctive Ring feature must be employed if the line is shared with a computer.
The 2920′s media and document handling range is from 8.5 x 11 to 3.9 x 5.8 inches. Output trays capacity is 100 sheets. Input tray capacity is 250 sheets. There is a top limit of 20 sheet feed and only plain paper is support.
The Brother Intellifax 2920 Printer has a copying speed of 15 pages per minute when used as a photo-copier. Dpi resolution is 200 x 300. As a monochrome copier, the gray scale is important. Brother knows this and has the unit fine tuned to distinguish and print 64 gray-scale half tones. The reduction – enlargement range is down to 50% or the original or up to 200%. Print preset capacity is 99 copies without resetting.
