Apple Tree Cavtiy?
I have an apple tree cavity in one of the trunks (2 trunked tree). The tree is approx. been around since the early 1900′s.
It was filled with this foam and I removed the foam because there was water and ants. i have killed all the ants…wohoo. However, there is standing water and very moist in the cavity. What is the best way to dry this out? And should I refoam?
The only thing that comes to mind would be to drill a hole into the trunk down where you think the bottom is(measure down into the hole) so that any water that gets in can drain out…Would that work? It may fill in over time, but you could just keep drilling it open.
