Need a ford “FE” series big block expert here?
I own a “FE” series big block, a 360 ci v8. because it’s a truck motor, it has a 352 crank in a 390 block, unlike car engines, plus it has a truck cam. I am interested in swapping out the crank in order to get much higher displacement. all FE motors can interchange cranks. What rods and what crank should I choose? this motor is a bit unusual since it’s a truck motor, so I’m confused with sizes already.

The longest factory crank would be a 3.98 stroke for a 428. This can be a Cobra Jet or Industrial (marine). This would give you a 410 CIDengine. You’d need 428 or 410 CID rods and 410 pistons as well. Bore the block to 4.133 inches and make a standard bore 428. I made a 428 out of a 352 after sonic checking the block and spending 8 hours with a Rottler boring bar……..
