Colorado Siding Company- Making Color Choices
You’ve decided to change the appearance of your house, and you want to start with the siding. You want house siding that is going to look good, save energy and last a long time. You also want it to be a reflection of you. What is your house going to say about you? Are you conservative, flashy or somewhere in between.
If you’re changing your siding, you need to decide what you want to do about color. Do you want bright colors on the outside your home or do you want to go with a natural look such as bricks or stone. Maybe you want to stick with a traditional white. Whatever you decide, the type of siding you want will limit the color choices you have, although perhaps not as much as it once might have.
If you choose wood or engineered wood, your choices are as limitless as the painter’s ability to mix paint (or purchase paint from someone who can). Your house could be painted chartreuse and fuchsia if you so desired. Wood and engineered would, such as that manufactured by LP Smartside, can be painted with a wide variety of colors and stains, some more fade resistant than others.
Even bricks can be painted if the homeowner wants, although some consider the result quite hideous, and cannot understand how someone could destroy the beauty of the brick. Everyone should be able to choose the home style and color that suits their individual tastes and financial situation. Natural brick and stone however, also have variations within their natural colors and give the homeowner some choices there as well.
Fiber cement house siding manufacturer James Hardie uses a technology they call “color plus” in which several layers of paint are baked into the clay. The paint is specifically designed for fiber cement, and was created with the intent to resist climatic elements and fading that accompanies exposure. Both vinyl and metal siding come in various colors. Metal siding is colored with baked enamel, which is susceptible to scratches, much like a car exterior. Any untreated scratches would be prone to rust. Currently, there are hundreds of vinyl siding colors from which to choose. Mastic Vinyl siding gives the homeowner over 700 color choices. Other companies may have more or less, but the point is that you could probably find any color you might want for the exterior of your home.
House siding color choices may only be dependent on the type of siding you want to use, but in many cases, the options are limitless, whether you want a crisp, white clapboard farmhouse, or a many-colored Victorian Painted Lady.
When it comes time to choose who is going to do the work, do your homework and make sure you are dealing with a reputable organization. If you’re going to be bold, make sure your contractor shares your vision, and is qualified to do what you desire. Be as fussy about your siding installer as your are about your siding color.
